Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Uwins could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours including Original auction, the work Portrait of a young lady, bust-length, in a white headdress changed hands for GBP 95.60 (€ 144.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Uwins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Returning from School in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 7,767.50 (€ 11,340.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Uwins konnte im Juli 2004 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours including Original wechselte die Arbeit Portrait of a young lady, bust-length, in a white headdress für GBP 95,60 (€ 144,47) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Uwins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Returning from School im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.767,50 (€ 11.340,30).
