This artwork by Thomas Scott achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2008. In the A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation auction, the work Hermitage Castle, Roxburghshire sold for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,231.76) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Thomas Scott; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ploughing at Newstead Bridge, near Melrose, Roxburghshire sold at auction in October 2008 with the realized price of GBP 4,500.00 (€ 5,735.89).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Scott erzielte im November 2008 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation wurde die Arbeit Hermitage Castle, Roxburghshire für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.231,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Thomas Scott; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Ploughing at Newstead Bridge, near Melrose, Roxburghshire im Oktober 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 4.500,00 (€ 5.735,89).
