Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work Congested waters at the harbour mouth by Thomas Rose Miles. The price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,480.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Rose Miles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Weed gatherers, West coast of Ireland; and Morning of the Fair, Roundstone Quay, Connemara in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 36,000.00 (€ 52,976.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Congested waters at the harbour mouth von Thomas Rose Miles zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.480,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Rose Miles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Weed gatherers, West coast of Ireland; and Morning of the Fair, Roundstone Quay, Connemara im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.000,00 (€ 52.976,44).
