In July 2003 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH ART ON PAPER INCLUDING ORIGINAL BOOK ILLUSTRATIONS, which included the work Manningtree, Essex by Thomas Pyne. The price achieved of GBP 470.00 (€ 614.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Other works by Thomas Pyne have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2003 the work The Rhein at Ehrenbrightstein: and Castel Aragonese, Ischia was auctioned for GBP 528.75 (€ 736.68).
