Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Across the heath to the river by Thomas Pyne was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations auction at Christies in London in July 2007. The price achieved of GBP 180.00 (€ 267.34) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150.00 – 250.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Pyne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Rhein at Ehrenbrightstein: and Castel Aragonese, Ischia, which sold at auction in May 2003 for GBP 528.75 (€ 736.68).
