In March 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian, which included the work Portrait Of Rebecca Norton (Circa 1683-1731), Three-Quarter-Length, Seated In A Landscape, Wearing A Green Dress And Blue Cloak by Thomas Murray. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,183.89), 41% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Murray - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Anne, Lady Trevor, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Pink Dress With Blue Cloak, Her Right Hand Resting On A King Charles Spaniel, Honeysuckle To Her Left, A Wooded River Landscape With A Castle Beyond, which sold at auction in June 2005 for GBP 18,600.00 (€ 27,566.37).

Im März 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait Of Rebecca Norton (Circa 1683-1731), Three-Quarter-Length, Seated In A Landscape, Wearing A Green Dress And Blue Cloak von Thomas Murray zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 13.183,89) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Murray mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait of Anne, Lady Trevor, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Pink Dress With Blue Cloak, Her Right Hand Resting On A King Charles Spaniel, Honeysuckle To Her Left, A Wooded River Landscape With A Castle Beyond beobachtet, die im Juni 2005 für GBP 18.600,00 (€ 27.566,37) versteigert wurde.
