This artwork by Thomas Martine Ronaldson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2007. In the Pictures Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work Contemplation sold for EUR 4,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,600.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Thomas Martine Ronaldson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portrait of a lady sold at auction in October 2003 with the realized price of GBP 5,377.50 (€ 7,854.33).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Martine Ronaldson erzielte im September 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Pictures Watercolours and Drawings wurde die Arbeit Contemplation für EUR 4.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 1.600,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Thomas Martine Ronaldson; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portrait of a lady im Oktober 2003 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 5.377,50 (€ 7.854,33).
