Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Entrance to Spring Gardens looking towards the Phoenix Fire-Engine-House, Old Cockspur Street, circa 1790 by Thomas Malton, Jun. was sold in the THE ROYAL & SUNALLIANCE COLLECTION auction at Christies in London in May 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,680.00 (€ 2,480.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Thomas Malton, Jun. have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Banqueting House And The Privy Garden, Whitehall, London in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,222.14).

Die Arbeit The Entrance to Spring Gardens looking towards the Phoenix Fire-Engine-House, Old Cockspur Street, circa 1790 von Thomas Malton, Jun. wurde im Mai 2005 in der Auktion THE ROYAL & SUNALLIANCE COLLECTION bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.680,00 (€ 2.480,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
