The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,468.74), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Leemans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A flagship arriving at her anchorage in the Nore and announcing her arrival with a salute, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,190.57).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.468,74) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Leemans mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A flagship arriving at her anchorage in the Nore and announcing her arrival with a salute beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 14.400,00 (€ 21.190,57) versteigert wurde.
