Auction result misses estimated price range

In October 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work A flagship announcing her departure from the Medway with a Royal yacht anchored nearby by Thomas Leemans for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,779.90). This price was achieved in the auction Maritime Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Thomas Leemans have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A flagship arriving at her anchorage in the Nore and announcing her arrival with a salute in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,190.57).

Im Oktober 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A flagship announcing her departure from the Medway with a Royal yacht anchored nearby von Thomas Leemans für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.779,90) erwerben.
