This artwork by Thomas Hudson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2017. In the Old Masters auction, the work Portrait of Penelope Bayfield of Dedham Grove, Essex, three-quarter-length sold for USD 75,000.00 (€ 64,388.74) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Hudson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of John and Robert, sons of Robert Ker, 2nd Duke of Roxburghe, in van Dyck costume with their two dogs, an extensive landscape beyond in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 450,000.00 (€ 386,365.59).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Hudson erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters wurde die Arbeit Portrait of Penelope Bayfield of Dedham Grove, Essex, three-quarter-length für USD 75.000,00 (€ 64.388,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00.
