Upper estimate price exceeded by 26 %.
The work Psychedelic Brother by Thomas Houseago was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. It achieved a price of HKD 819,000.00 (€ 99,023.06), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 26%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Houseago - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Quake mask, which sold at auction in June 2019 for EUR 225,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Psychedelic Brother von Thomas Houseago kam im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 819.000,00 (€ 99.023,06) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 26%. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Houseago mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Quake mask beobachtet, die im Juni 2019 für EUR 225.000,00 versteigert wurde.
