In June 2007 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work Portrait of Miss Godfrey, Full-Length, Seated With Her Dog by Thomas Heaphy. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,280.00 (€ 3,383.41). With this result, Portrait of Miss Godfrey, Full-Length, Seated With Her Dog is even the most expensive work of art by Thomas Heaphy that we have observed at auctions so far.
