Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Catherine and Bianca in a classical pose by Thomas Heaphy was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours and Original Book Illustrations auction at Christies in London in July 2007. The price achieved of GBP 480.00 (€ 712.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by Thomas Heaphy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Miss Godfrey, Full-Length, Seated With Her Dog in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,280.00 (€ 3,383.41).
