In November 2006 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper, which included the work The Teatro Marcello, Rome, Italy by Thomas Hartley Cromek. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,365.28), 50% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Thomas Hartley Cromek; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Artist'S Wife Admiring The Skyline Of Florence With The Bargello, Badia, Forte Belvedere, Palazzo Vecchio, Duomo And Campanile, From A Roof Terrace On The Via Dei Servi sold at auction in December 2007 with the realized price of GBP 14,900.00 (€ 20,246.57).
