Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Fish Market, Rome by Thomas Hartley Cromek was sold in the Early British Drawings, Watercolours and Portrait Miniatures auction at Sothebys in London in July 2009. It changed hands for a price of GBP 6,500.00 (€ 7,375.55) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Hartley Cromek - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Artist'S Wife Admiring The Skyline Of Florence With The Bargello, Badia, Forte Belvedere, Palazzo Vecchio, Duomo And Campanile, From A Roof Terrace On The Via Dei Servi, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 14,900.00 (€ 20,246.57).
