A top price for Thomas Griffiths Wainewright - as previously expected
In August 2021 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Robert Kennedy Nuttall, 1842 by Thomas Griffiths Wainewright. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 123,000.00 (€ 104,237.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Robert Kennedy Nuttall, 1842 is the most expensive artwork by Thomas Griffiths Wainewright that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Robert Kennedy Nuttall, 1842 von Thomas Griffiths Wainewright zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 123.000,00 (€ 104.237,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Robert Kennedy Nuttall, 1842 das teuerste Kunstwerk von Thomas Griffiths Wainewright, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
