Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work The fisherman's wife by Thomas Chambers. The price achieved of GBP 540.00 (€ 797.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Chambers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tarrytown, New York in January 2020 with an auction result of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,551.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit The fisherman's wife von Thomas Chambers zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 540,00 (€ 797,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Chambers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tarrytown, New York im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.551,43).
