Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Frank Heaphy could be acquired at Christies in London in February 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christopher Wood A Very Victorian Eye auction, the work Portrait of a young girl changed hands for GBP 960.00 (€ 1,423.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Frank Heaphy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Probably Oliver Goldsmith discovering his mistake. 'Oliver Goldsmith, having mistaken a gentleman's house for an inn, discovers his error on offering gratuities to the family who had waited on him, next morning' in February 2005 with an auction result of GBP 22,800.00 (€ 33,062.92).
'Oliver Goldsmith, having mistaken a gentleman's house for an inn, discovers his error on offering gratuities to the family who had waited on him, next morning' im Februar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.800,00 (€ 33.062,92).
