Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Francis Wainewright could be acquired at Christies in London in February 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British & Continental Watercolours auction, the work Egham Church changed hands for GBP 120.00 (€ 177.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Francis Wainewright achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Summer evening in January 2005 with an auction result of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,080.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Francis Wainewright konnte im Februar 2007 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion British & Continental Watercolours wechselte die Arbeit Egham Church für GBP 120,00 (€ 177,90) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Francis Wainewright erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Summer evening im Januar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.080,16).
