Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Thomas Edward Roberts could be acquired at Christies in New York in April 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Temptation changed hands for USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,204.39) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Edward Roberts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Discovery in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 55,250.00 (€ 66,801.40).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Thomas Edward Roberts konnte im April 2008 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit Temptation für USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.204,39) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Edward Roberts erzielen.
