Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2005 Christies in London held the auction PORTRAIT MINIATURES, OBJECTS OF VERTU AND SILVER, which included the work A cleric in black robes, lawn collar and powdered bobwig by Thomas Day. The price achieved of GBP 240.00 (€ 352.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 300.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Day achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of A Gentleman in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 19,700.00 (€ 25,114.72).

Im September 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion PORTRAIT MINIATURES, OBJECTS OF VERTU AND SILVER durch, in der auch die Arbeit A cleric in black robes, lawn collar and powdered bobwig von Thomas Day zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 240,00 (€ 352,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thomas Day erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.700,00 (€ 25.114,72).
