Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Arundel Castle from the Downs, West Sussex by Thomas Collier was sold in the Christie's Interiors auction at Christies in London in June 2008. The price achieved of GBP 687.50 (€ 869.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Collier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Going home, which sold at auction in July 2003 for GBP 1,351.25 (€ 1,766.17).
