Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction The Greek Sale, which included the work Figure by Theodoros Pantaleon. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,904.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Theodoros Pantaleon - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Greek Woman With Bird, which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,136.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2006 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion The Greek Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figure von Theodoros Pantaleon zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.904,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Theodoros Pantaleon mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Greek Woman With Bird beobachtet, die im November 2008 für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 18.136,13) versteigert wurde.
