Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Thilo Maatsch was auctioned at VAN HAM in Cologne in February 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 258.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thilo Maatsch achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sonnen-Zeichen vor Blau (recto); Gebirgslandschaft (verso) in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,380.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Thilo Maatsch im Februar 2021 bei VAN HAM in Köln versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 258,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Thilo Maatsch erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sonnen-Zeichen vor Blau (recto); Gebirgslandschaft (verso) im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 17.380,46).
