Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Sothebys in Paris held the auction Collection Monsieur et Madame Robert Schmit, Part II, which included the work Recto: Charrette de charbon à cinq chevaux | Verso: Etudes by Théodore Géricault. The price achieved of EUR 17,640.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Théodore Géricault achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait d'Alfred et Elisabeth Dedreux in February 2009 with an auction result of EUR 9,025,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Collection Monsieur et Madame Robert Schmit, Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Recto: Charrette de charbon à cinq chevaux | Verso: Etudes von Théodore Géricault zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 17.640,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Théodore Géricault erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait d'Alfred et Elisabeth Dedreux im Februar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 9.025.000,00.
