Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Theo Wolvecamp was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 5,040.00. Admittedly, works by Theo Wolvecamp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in December 2006 with an auction result of EUR 33,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Theo Wolvecamp im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 5.040,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Theo Wolvecamp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 33.600,00.
