Despite a disappointment, a good price for Theo MacKaay
When this work without title by Theo MacKaay was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,625.00. Despite this disappointing result, this work without title is the most expensive artwork by Theo MacKaay that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Theo MacKaay
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Theo MacKaay im März 2013 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.625,00 den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist dieses Werk ohne Titel das teuerste Kunstwerk von Theo MacKaay, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
