Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work A Busy Street in Tangiers by Themistokles von Eckenbrecher for USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,784.73). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art and Orientalist Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Themistokles von Eckenbrecher have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2011 by the work German a Busy Street In Tangiers at GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,152.55).
