Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by The Pseudo Battaglioli could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work Elegant Figures Conversing Beneath Ruins, A Hill Town With A Tall Spire Beyond changed hands for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,724.94) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Other works by The Pseudo Battaglioli have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2011 by the work A Capriccio View With A Footbridge Over A River, A Large Cathedral In The Background at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,461.67).
