Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Through The Window by Tessa Newcomb. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 358.50 (€ 515.98), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tessa Newcomb - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work How Do You See Yourself?, which sold at auction in July this year for GBP 1,088.00 (€ 1,269.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Through The Window von Tessa Newcomb zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 358,50 (€ 515,98) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tessa Newcomb mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit How Do You See Yourself? beobachtet, die im Juli diesen Jahres für GBP 1.088,00 (€ 1.269,37) versteigert wurde.
