Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Cut Above 13 in. high by Terry Duen Kelsey was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,408.00 (€ 1,290.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Terry Duen Kelsey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Friends in high places in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 26,312.56).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Cut Above 13 in. high von Terry Duen Kelsey im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.408,00 (€ 1.290,80) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Terry Duen Kelsey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Friends in high places im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 26.312,56).
