In the Japanese and Korean Art Including the Collection of David and Nayda Utterberg auction, the work Day dreaming sold for USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,383.03) - well above the upper estimate of USD 4,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Teisai Hokuba - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two Beauties Under Blossoming Cherry Tree, which sold at auction in March 2021 for USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,289.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Teisai Hokuba erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art Including the Collection of David and Nayda Utterberg wurde die Arbeit Day dreaming für USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.383,03) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 4.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Teisai Hokuba mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Two Beauties Under Blossoming Cherry Tree beobachtet, die im März 2021 für USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.289,28) versteigert wurde.
