A top price for Tazio Secchiaroli
In June 2012 Christies in London held the auction Masterworks of Italian Photography 1945-1975 From the Collection of Paolo Morello, which included the work Sophia Loren, 1972 by Tazio Secchiaroli. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 20,000.00 (€ 24,764.76), 67% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Sophia Loren, 1972 the most expensive artwork by Tazio Secchiaroli that we have observed at auctions so far.
