Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Young Woman In A Windsor Chair by Tateishi Harumi for USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,581.68). This price was achieved in the auction Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tateishi Harumi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shirazake (White sake) in March last year with an auction result of USD 25,200.00 (€ 22,717.03).
