A top price for Tanomura Chokunyû - as previously expected
In September 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Japanese & Korean Art, which included the work Allegory of "Black and white rats" by Tanomura Chokunyû. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,101.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Allegory of "Black and white rats" is the most expensive artwork by Tanomura Chokunyû that we have observed at auctions so far.
