Auction result well in line with expectations
The work (Dragon) by Tang Da Wu was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,694.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tang Da Wu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 200,000.00 (€ 23,535.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit (Dragon) von Tang Da Wu wurde im Oktober 2017 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 106.250,00 (€ 11.694,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Tang Da Wu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für HKD 200.000,00 (€ 23.535,85) versteigert wurde.
