With wood box inscribed and sealed by the artist's son, Takamura Tadashi, and dated July, 2003 and a letter written by Takamura Tadashi certifying the authenticity of the vase and dating it to the Showa 30s (1955-65)

The work Flat-Topped Vase with Ear Handles by Takamura Toyochika was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2004. The price achieved of USD 3,585.00 (€ 2,916.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Flat-Topped Vase with Ear Handles is the most expensive artwork by Takamura Toyochika that we have observed at auctions so far.
