Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (The Lute Player) by Tahia Halim was sold in the Middle Eastern, Modern and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in London in October 2017. The price achieved of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 57,009.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tahia Halim achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Farhat Al Nuba (The Happiness of Nubia) in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 749,000.00 (€ 697,328.00).
