Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in New York held the auction European Art | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work The Fountain in the Village Square framed 42.5 x 61.5 x 3.0 cm (16 3/4 x 24 1/2 x 1 1/5 in). by Tadeusz Makowski. The price achieved of USD 28,160.00 (€ 25,815.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tadeusz Makowski - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fleurs en Plein Air, Paris framed 41.0 x 62.5 x 4.5 cm (16 1/8 x 24 5/8 x 1 4/5 in)., which sold at auction in November this year for USD 76,700.00 (€ 70,315.36).
