Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Theodore Lux Feininger achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in June 2016. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work The Black Mate sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 19,262.15) - well above the upper estimate of USD 9,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Theodore Lux Feininger; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Schiff Im Golf Von Siam (Ship In The Gulf Of Siam) sold at auction in February 2019 with the realized price of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,247.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Theodore Lux Feininger erzielte im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit The Black Mate für USD 21.250,00 (€ 19.262,15) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 9.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Theodore Lux Feininger; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Schiff Im Golf Von Siam (Ship In The Gulf Of Siam) im Februar 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.247,03).
