Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Theodore Lux Feininger could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Ships In The Baltic; The Ship Comes Home: Two Works changed hands for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,719.36) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Theodore Lux Feininger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Schiff Im Golf Von Siam (Ship In The Gulf Of Siam) in February 2019 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,247.03).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Theodore Lux Feininger konnte im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Ships In The Baltic; The Ship Comes Home: Two Works für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.719,36) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Theodore Lux Feininger auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Schiff Im Golf Von Siam (Ship In The Gulf Of Siam) im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.247,03).
