It achieved a price of USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,764.14), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 70%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Theodore Lux Feininger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Schiff Im Golf Von Siam (Ship In The Gulf Of Siam), which sold at auction in February 2019 for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,247.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 70 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Die Lotsenkutter von Theodore Lux Feininger kam im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.764,14) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 70%. Für andere Arbeiten von Theodore Lux Feininger mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Schiff Im Golf Von Siam (Ship In The Gulf Of Siam) beobachtet, die im Februar 2019 für GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.247,03) versteigert wurde.
