Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work Sunny scenery of the River Seine by Szeto Lap. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 350,000.00 – 550,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 400,000.00 (€ 43,701.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Szeto Lap - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Silver Chateau, which sold at auction in April 2015 for HKD 1,062,500.00 (€ 122,793.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunny scenery of the River Seine von Szeto Lap zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 350.000,00 – 550.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 43.701,80) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Szeto Lap mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Silver Chateau beobachtet, die im April 2015 für HKD 1.062.500,00 (€ 122.793,85) versteigert wurde.
