Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work An Afternoon Stroll by the River by Francis Sydney Muschamp was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,782.28). Admittedly, works by Francis Sydney Muschamp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A game of tennis in November 2009 with an auction result of GBP 7,750.00 (€ 8,481.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit An Afternoon Stroll by the River von Francis Sydney Muschamp im Juli 2007 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.782,28) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Sydney Muschamp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A game of tennis im November 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.750,00 (€ 8.481,38).
