Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Australian Goffredo Embracing by Susan Norrie was auctioned at Sothebys in Sydney in April 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 22,800.00 (€ 13,794.53). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Susan Norrie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pageant I, 1987, which sold at auction in November 2018 for AUD 40,260.00 (€ 35,555.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Australian Goffredo Embracing von Susan Norrie im April 2008 bei Sothebys in Sydney versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 22.800,00 (€ 13.794,53) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Susan Norrie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pageant I, 1987 beobachtet, die im November 2018 für AUD 40.260,00 (€ 35.555,95) versteigert wurde.
