Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Idol Thief I by Subodh Gupta was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2019. It changed hands for a price of USD 87,500.00 (€ 80,238.42) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Subodh Gupta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in October 2008 with an auction result of HKD 12,980,000.00 (€ 1,320,312.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Idol Thief I von Subodh Gupta kam im September 2019 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 80.238,42) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Subodh Gupta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 12.980.000,00 (€ 1.320.312,25).
