Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Town and Boats 11 7/8 x 16 in. (30.2 x 40.6 cm.) by Stuart Davis was sold in the American Art auction at Bonhams in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 35,655.00 (€ 33,226.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stuart Davis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rue Lipp in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 6,847,200.00 (€ 6,047,160.65).
