Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Stewart Joyce could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime & Naval Battles (Pictures) auction, the work Britannia Gathering Way Off The Royal Yacht Squadron, Cowes changed hands for GBP 360.00 (€ 534.61) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Stewart Joyce - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work White Heather at full pelt off Old Castle Point, Cowes, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,662.81).
