Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of The Blessed Thomas Percy, 7Th Earl Of Northumberland (1528-1570) by Steven van der Meulen was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2007. The price achieved of GBP 30,500.00 (€ 42,707.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Steven van der Meulen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Queen Elizabeth I (1533-1603) in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,596,500.00 (€ 3,635,771.75).
